Adventure Activities in North Wales

North Wales and Snowdonia have always been a hub for mountaineering and outdoor adventure, however in recent years there has been a distinct increase in the number of alternative Adventure activities available on our doorstep, and not too far away, including the likes of:

And of course the mountains of Snowdonia, and the North Wales beaches and coastlines

  • Walking in Snowdonia - Snowdonia is a great place to come walking and we have a network of walks for people of all abilities. Whether you want the challenge of ascending Snowdon, the highest mountain in England and Wales, or prefer one of our leisurely walks along the coastline, or low level lakeside trails, you’re guaranteed breathtaking scenery and diverse landscapes. - Eryri - Snowdonia (eryri-npa.gov.uk)

  • Mountain Biking - just out the door or within a short half hours drive, some of the best landscapes and trails you can ride on in the whole of the UK. From the infamous Marin and Coed y Brenin trails there are plenty more places just off the beaten track and across the whole of the local area and even onto Anglesey. As well as the trails there's plenty more to discover. - Ride North Wales -Ride North Wales | For mountain bikers visiting Wales

  • Camping - North Wales can lay claim to some of the most breath-taking landscapes in the British Isles. From the National Park around Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales, to pristine sandy beaches and excellent sailing and surfing, North Wales has an embarrassment of riches to offer campers. You can always make use of our budget accommodation here in Conwy for those less than pleasant wet & windy camping days and head off again the next day. - Camping in Wales - A List of Wales Campsites (lovecamping.co.uk)

  • Coasteering - A combination of the best of rock and water based activities, Coasteering offers an exhilarating and adrenaline packed day and, arguably, the coolest way to experience Anglesey’s incredible coastline - Coasteering Anglesey | Discover The Best Providers In 2022
  • Surfing - The Llyn peninsula picks up Atlantic swells through a "surf window" between the SW of the UK and Ireland. Generally smaller than in Devon and Cornwall in westerly or northwesterly Atlantic swells, whilst the Anglesey beaches often has smaller waves, but still plenty of fun to be had. - Northwest Wales Surf Reports and Surfing (magicseaweed.com)

  • Snowboarding and Skiing - Though we don't have any mountain lifts, or consistent snowfall for that matter, we do have some great scenery. And if your willing to make the trip, and then the long walk into the hills before the swift descent, sometime.

There's never been a better time to come and explore the area, and the wealth of activities and guides available in the area.
